Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]

Both individuals and companies are allowed to register a .cv domain name.

  • correspond to a geographical related name. Geographic names can only be registered directly under .cv by a competent administrative authority.

Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]

    • government members' offices
    • services, agencies, and projects integrated into the Direct Administration of the State;

  • the domain name can consist of the letters in the Latin script (a-z), Arabic numbers (0-9) and special characters (à, â, ã, ç, é, ê, í, ó, ô, õ e ú);
  • as a separator between words, only the character "-" (hyphen) is accepted, and it cannot be used at the beginning or end of the domain name;
  • a domain name that begins with "xn" cannot contain two consecutive hyphens "--" in the third and fourth positions.
