Timothy M. McGinnis is the father of a little boy, and as such, much of his energy is spent trying to keep up with his son. When he has a few spare moments, McTim consults for African ISPs on IP resource issues, gives trainings and lectures on DNSSEC, Internet Governance and Internet infrastructure development.

McTim has been online for over 20 years and has, amongst other things, been a content monkey, dot-bomb survivor and a dogwallah. His most recent full time job was with the European IP address registry where he was able to watch and participate in Internet Governance firsthand. Among his publishing credits are exciting works such as “Supporting Notes for the IPv6 End User Site Assignment Request Form” (a RIPE document) and “WSIS/WGIG IPv6 distribution issues in Africa” for the book Africa and the WSIS: From Principles to Action. Perspectives from the Civil Society. He was also an ISOC WSIS Ambassador.

McTim lives in Kampala, where the traffic jams are terrible, and Internet connectivity is almost as bad. [1]
