John Walubengo has over 15 years experience in the IT Training and Consulting; his area of specialization is the design and deployment of secure, Internet based solutions for Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks. He is currently the MMU's Ag. Director of ICT Services, although he continues to provide consultancy services to governments and other organisations. He is also active on several boards, including AfriNIC (www.afrinic.net), ISACA-Kenya (www.isaca.or.ke), and KASNEB (www.kasneb.or.ke).[1]

Career History

Mr. Walubengo's past experience includes working at Strathmore University's Nairobi as the founding IT Course Director and then as a Lecturer and Head of IT Training, at the Multimedia University College of Kenya (MMU). He describes his work at Strathmore as both enriching and challenging, and he most enjoyed teaching Programming, Networking, and Internet Technology.[2]

Industry Participation

John has attended ICANN meetings and has spoken at other international events; such as the East African Fibre Summit.[3]

Education

John holds an MSc in Strategic Business IT from the University of Portsmouth, UK; and a BSc in Mathematics & Computing from Kenyatta University, Kenya. John also has several industry certifications ,including the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and the CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certifications.[4]
