Citizen Hawk is an online brand management solutions provider that helps companies protect their online brands by targeting cybersquatters. Citizen Hawk continually monitors the web to expose the typosquatters and cyberscammers affecting their clients' business. They shutdown and recover these fraudulent domains for their clients.[1]

The process of identifying cybersquatters and filing UDRP are completely automated at Citizen Hawk. This generic filing of UDRP has created some problems for the company in the past. There were cases of carelessness and errors in the filings which has costed their clients dearly. [2] [3]

History[edit | edit source]

Citizen Hawk was founded in 2006 and is based in Aliso Viejo, California.

In 2008, Citizen Hawk has received a funding of $3Million from Maveron LLC.[4]

Business Model[edit | edit source]

Citizen Hawk has an innovative business model. It files a complaint with the ICANN on the cybersquatter on behalf of it's client and pays the complaint filing fees upfront. After the domain is recovered, it charges a commission on the ad revenue of these domains.[5]

Citizen Hawk is a part of the LinkShare affiliate network[6] and Hydra.[7]
