Genious Communications is the 5th registrar to be created and accredited by ICANN in Africa,[1] and the first ICANN accredited registrar located in North Africa.[2] Their clients are spread across the Middle East, Morocco, Spain, and France,[3] and they continue to work themselves into markets outside of Morocco.[4] They have partnered with eNom.

Founder and CEO, Hamza Aboulfeth, began working towards the creation of Genious Communications in 2003, when he was only 17 years old. By 2007, at the age of 21, Genious had become a reality.[5]

Geographic Background

Morocco has become one of the top 3 largest markets for domains in Africa. Their ccTLD is increasingly used, and the population has continually greater access to computers and Internet connections. Morocco also offers one of the cheapest ccTLDs in Africa.[6]
