Rodney is an Actor who supplements his meagre income by helping the conference organisers. He is also a freelance graphic designer and was responsible for the official publications at the ICANN Wellington Conference.

Life as an Actor

He has been heavily involved in Wellington theatre since arriving in New Zealand in the early 1970s.

He is the co-founder of the original BATS Theatre whose varied work covered the classics to innovative and creative pieces that involved people such as Gary Henderson, Andrew Foster, Kerry Fox and Jennifer Ward-Lealand at the start of their careers. This was the foundation of the now professional BATS theatre.

He still actively involved in theatre in a variety of capacities. He is a director of the highly successful Kapitall Kids' Theatre, which provides work for professional actors, technicians and other practitioners, and Backyard Productions which started regular productions in 2005.[1]

As an actor he has appeared on:

  • television: 'Freaky'; 'Insider's Guide to Love'; 'The Killian Curse'; 'Sensing Murder'
  • film: 'Lord of The Rings', 'Avatar'; 10 short films (one of which did the rounds of US Film Festivals).

As a Graphic Designer

He is a computer graphic designer/Mac operator with many years' experience and a varied portfolio. Work has included conference papers, book layout and design, advertising layout, annual reports, brochures, flyers, menus, posters and programmes.[2]
