Gabriela Szlak is the Director of Regional Initiatives at einstituto, the Instituto Latinoamericano de Comercio Electrónico (ILCE), which is a federation of chambers of e-commerce within Latin America. Her current responsibilities therein include directing two regional initiatives: an online dispute resolution RED/ODR initiative; and eGobernanza, which focuses on raising awaress regarding Internet governance issues for regional businesses and raising their level of participation in global Internet policy development processes. The latter project also involves solving online e-commerce disputes between businesses that have voluntarily adhered to their einstituto's code of conduct. Gabriela represents einstituto within ICANN's Business Constituency. She comes from a legal background and currently serves as an Attorney and Mediator at Estudio Rosz focusing on IT Law, Business and Civil Law.[1]


Ms. Szlak joined the ICANN community as a two-time ICANN Fellow, at ICANN 39 in Cartagena and ICANN 43 in Costa Rica. She has also worked at the Newcomer's Lounge, which is a dedicated area for first-time ICANN attendees to receive guidance in their first experience as ICANN participants. She first began her role in the Newcomer Lounge at ICANN 44 in Prague, and continued as Community Lead at ICANN 45 in Toronto. She has also participated in the Internet Governance program of the South School of Internet Governance.[2] Through her aforementioned work on the Business Constituency, she has been involved in the locking of Domains names subject to UDRP proceedings PDP Working Group as BC member.[3]
