Eugenio Triana is a former ICANN Board members, serving from October 1998 to November 2000.

Eugenio served as one of nine initial ICANN Board members.[1] He served from October 1998 to November 2000.[2] In 2006, ICANN announced Eugenio's resignation as Chair of the ICANN Nominating Committee due to outside work obligations. He was thanked for his service by ICANN President Paul Twomey and Board Chairman Vint Cerf, who called upon George Sadowsky (Chair of the previous year's Nominating Committee) to step into the role of Interim Chair.[3][4][5]

Eugenio earned his Doctorate in industrial engineering in 1963 and a Master's degree in business administration from Madrid University in 1964.[2] He has served as an International Management Consultant on telecom policy, space and satellite systems, and copyright and intellectual property rights, in Madrid, Spain. He served as Deputy Director General in DG XIII for the European Commission from 1994 to 1998, where he was responsible for the Commission's "relations with the Information and Communications Technology user interests (ICT Partnership), and for coordinating the Directorate General's policy for space and satellite development". He has also been a Senior Member of the IEEE and was President of the Licensing Executive Society (LES-Spain) from 1983 to 1990.[2] Eugenio was Secretary General of Industrial Promotion and Technology in the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Energy from 1990 to 1994, where he was responsible for "inward investment, innovation, small and medium-sized enterprises, and research and development". He also represented the Spanish Government in several national and international enterprises and organizations, including the European Space Agency. He also taught physics, engineering, and technology management at several academic institutions between 1965 and 1983. In addition to ICANN, he has been a board member of multiple companies related to telecommunications and energy.[2]
