Peter Dengate Thrush is a barrister specializing in internet law, intellectual property and competition and the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of ICANN. He has been serving since being first elected in November of 2007 and was most recently re-elected following the ICANN Annual General Meeting in December 2010.[1] In addition to his work with ICANN he is also well known for his leadership in the ccTLD community having been important to the formation of the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD) and InterntNZ; both of which he has served as chair for in the past.[2] Aside from his policy work Peter Dengate Thrush is also a well known as a media commentator addressing internet related issues.
