.sv
.sv is the ccTLD for El Salvador. It is managed by SVNet.[1]
Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]
The domain name must not reference official aspects or topics of the country without the necessary authorization. Names that could be mistaken for some type of official and formal representation of the country will not be accepted.
Unnecessary redundancy in subdomain names should be avoided, such as including particles like "sal," "es," "sv" as part of the name. The suffix "SV" at the end of the full name is sufficiently distinctive to indicate the geographical nature of the name and its direct connection to the country name, El Salvador.
It is recommended to use names that begin with a letter and closely resemble the name, abbreviation, or acronym of the requesting entity. Names that are considered offensive or that go against the principles of the Internet will be subject to questioning and discussion with the requesting entity.
Names that represent a concept on the Internet and/or may cause confusion or mislead users, such as "Internet," "InterNIC," "IANA," etc., will not be accepted.[2]
Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]
