.cf Launch Rollout

Despite the fact that Dot CF aims to give away most of its domain names for free, they also launched in three phases in 2015, so as to apply good practices in trademark and IP protection:[1]

  • May 1 to May 31: registration of CF domains for trademark owners.
  • June 1 to August 31: registration of CF paid domains for everyone, on a first come, first served basis.
  • September 1: general availability of CF free domains.
