Application Details edit

The following is excerpted from the applicant response to question #18:

"Everything achieve its peak, its maturity, its ultimate status. So, as ultimate status, we understand that everything comes to an end.

But the term of something is not the end. At least for us the final is the beginning! With .final we are proposing the disclosure of the ultimate things whatever they are. A ultimate version of a software, a social network, an academic thesis, a friendʹs blog, a brand campaign or a story. Everything that is in its latest version or state can have a .final domain. Another applications that are expected are subjects related to decisive, conclusive or definite thoughts.

Our main target will be companies and private individuals working in the online services and academic segments. The .final generic top level domain will support our clients to spread through the world their finalized products, services and messages. The domain .final will also be the a new standard for ultimate contents in Brazil and, hopefully, in the world.

..

Users will know that a second level domain under .final will be the ultimate version of something. For instance, if they are looking for a software, they can be sure that the software URL under .final is the latest version of that specific software, even if it is updated with new releases frequently.

With the .final gTLD we plan to identify the products, services and websites that are declared to be final.

As NIC.br is a frequently consulted organization by the media and itʹs domain registration website for .br ranks #59 in Alexaʹs ranking for Brazil, publicity will be used to reach out to the intended audiences to help .final achieve recognition as the way to say something is final.

.final will be standing on the shoulders of the .br registry, carrying its widely known reputation and service-levels that made it the registry of choice of the vast majority of brazilian Internet presence.

Registration will be open to all law-abiding citizens or organizations to perform lawful and non-abusive activities using such domains, with registrations periods from 1 to 10 years.

As registrants identities will be disclosed thru WHOIS interfaces, contact information for persons will be abridged in the results to protect their privacy. Contact information for organizations will be published in full."[3]
