Currently a Technology and Management Consultant in Delhi, consulting for and advising government, corporate and non-government institutions on national level policies, programs and best practices in adoption of ICT and institutional governance. Was earlier Director General for Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, a nationwide network of R&D labs which were pioneers in Supercomputing, Indian Language computing, Software Technologies, Advanced Electronics, Cybersecurity and Health Informatics. Earlier, was founder of Indian academic and research network ERNET which spearheaded India's entry into Global Internet.
Current areas of interest include cybersecurity and privacy, Cloud Computing, IT in health and new digital technologies. Of particular interest are linkages between technologies and businesses and nurturing of start-ups. Recognised as one of '30 Icons of Indian IT' recently.
