Jaewon Son is a Committee Member of the Korea Internet Governance Forum (KrIGF) and outreach coordinator of Youth4IG. She is interested in ensuring the multistakeholder model in internet governance which made her initiate the first youth session in Korea during the 8th KrIGF and speak on the issue at various meetings.
Jaewon was an outstanding performer awardee at the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) 2018, and was a mentor and keynote speaker at APIGA 2019. She has attended ICANN 63 in Barcelona as a civilian expert appointed by Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), and ICANN 64 in Kobe as a NextGen. In addition, she will be attending ICANN66 in Montreal as NextGen Ambassador to enhancing youth participation. she has attended Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) 2019 in Vladivostok, and Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) 48 in Chiang Mai as a fellow and speaker; and as a speaker at IGF 2019 in Berlin. In addition, she has been selected as a fellow to attend ICANN 67 in Cancun, Mexico.
