Zheng Song

Zheng Song served as Head of Stakeholder Engagement in China at ICANN from 2013-2017. As a member of the Global Stakeholder Engagement team, he coordinated implementation of ICANN's strategic plan for China and was responsible for engagement with all stakeholders, including governments, internet communities and private sectors in the country.

Career History

Before joining ICANN, Zheng was Director of Yuan Associates, providing consulting service on government affairs to Fortune 500 companies and world renowned international organizations. He has more than 17 years' experience in working for and with the Chinese government and international organizations.[1]

Before working as a consultant, Zheng worked for China's Ministry of Commerce and the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC. As a specialist in the area of trade policy, he has a long track record of working to overcome international trade disputes and related issues. He also participated in the Sino-US Joint Committee for Commerce and Trade (JCCT) and the Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED) as liaison officer.[1]

Education

Zheng graduated from the University of International Business and Economics with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics in 1996. He also holds an MBA Degree from the Economy Management School of Tsinghua University (2000-2003).[1]
