Career History

He was the Founding Director of Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company's Information & Communications Technologies Business Unit for 2 years. Prior to this, he was the Project Manager, Science, Technology & Research Trust, Information & Communication Policy Roadmap. From 2002 to 2003, he was the Product Architect at Altamente Inc., where he analyzed customer’s network security needs, reorganized the company’s product line, rewrote marketing collateral and organized sales efforts. He is also the Co-Founder of Imana Inc., which is a software firm. From 1994 to 1996 he was a Member of the Technical Staff at Filoli Information Systems. He has also served as a Project Manager at Whitelight Systems, Software Developer at Research Libraries Group and Software Developer at HP.[2]

In Puerto Rico, he led the Government's efforts to attract global investment to the Island in areas such as research & development, engineering services, and business process outsourcing. He also co-founded Imana, Inc, which was a software development startup in San Francisco.[3]

Education

Mr. Polanco holds a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Stanford University, Masters in Professional Management from the Institute of Generative Leadership, and an Executive Certificate in International Marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Marketing.
