Paul Diaz is the Vice President of Policy for Public Interest Registry (PIR). He joined PIR in October 2011 as the Director of Public Policy and was promoted to his current position in Jan 2014. His responsibilities included governance and compliance initiatives related to new TLDs, ICANN policies, and industry regulations, as well as advocating Company positions before Congress and Executive branch agencies.[1]

Diaz is a 2021 NomCom delegate and served as the chair of ICANN's Registries Stakeholder Group's from 2015-2018. [2]

Career History edit

He is the former Policy Manager at Network Solutions, where he began in 1998 and was responsible for handling ICANN-related issues, corporate advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels, and administering Network Solutions' business ethics program. Mr. Diaz spent almost 13 years in policy management, data analysis, and competitive research roles for Network Solutions.

Prior to joining Network Solutions, Paul Diaz spent six and half years as an intelligence officer working with the Central Intelligence Agency and focused on Latin America. He has traveled throughout Mexico, Central America, and Colombia.

Paul received his Masters of Public Policy from the Kennedy School at Harvard University, and his undergraduate degree (with honors, Phi Beta Kappa) from Trinity College in Hartford, C.T.[3] He lives and works in Northern Virginia, USA.[4]
