Jorge Luis Lara García is a Professional in Modern Languages and current student intern at the International Office of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies of Colombia. In that capacity, he provides translations from English to Spanish and vice versa for different types of documents that are required in the Ministry.

Ministry of ICT of Colombia

Since December 2016, Jorge García has been working as a translator at the International Office of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies of Colombia. He translates from English to Spanish and vice versa a broad range of subject matter with emphasis on international policy, commercial and IT documents. He is responsible for the Spanish translation of the articles published on the ICANNwiki page since he is a specialist in IT-related issues.

Education

Jorge is currently finishing his degree in Modern Languages with a Major in the translation of economic-financial, legal and commercial documents from the Universidad EAN. He speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French, and also knows some Japanese.

At the university, he always tried to make the most of his time and participate in as many extracurricular activities as possible.

He is a Portuguese and English language tutor and a member of a piano group and has attended proofreading, copyediting, and conference interpreting courses. Furthermore, he published his first article in Portuguese about a current problem in our society: bullying.
