Adrian Quesada Rodriguez (MSc, MA.) is a Researcher on Law and ICT and Data Protection Officer at Mandat International, currently working on multiple Horizon 2020 research projects on privacy and cyber security for Internet of Things and Smart Cities.

He has worked with DiploFoundation as a Policy and Technology Assistant and Curator for the Geneva Internet Platform, Consultant for the Internet Society, Mediator for the University of Costa Rica and the Ministry of Justice and Peace, and as a Research and Teaching Assistant for the Technology, e-Commerce & Telecommunications Department for the Faculty of Law of the University of Costa Rica.[1]

He has pursued Master's degrees in both International Law at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva and Telecommunications Economics from the Spanish National Distance Education University (UNED). Additionally, he was recognized as a Privacy by Design Ambassador by the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Canada in 2014. He is the author of a book on Data Protection on Convergent Telecommunications (for which he received the 2014 Data Protection Research Award by the Spanish Data Protection Agency).

Adrian is a three-time ICANN Fellow (ICANN 47, [ICANN 48]], ICANN 50), a previous fellow of the Secretariat of the Internet Governance Forum (2013-2014), has been a participant and scholarship holder for multiple related events (SSIG, LACIGF, etc.).

He is currently a member of the following organizations:

Adrian has been involved with ISOC, (Costa Rica and Switzerland chapters)[2]. He has also been involved in a number of research initiatives with various organizations, studying such topics as Internet Governance, Cyber Security, e-Commerce, Intellectual Property, Data Protection, and e-Democracy.
