.id is the ccTLD for Indonesia. It is managed by Perkumpulan Pengelola Nama Domain Internet Indonesia (PANDI).[1]
Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]
Naming a Domain must meet the following terms and conditions:
- Normative Name: Domain Name is the same as, part of, or abbreviation of the Registrant/business/entity/organization's name, as stated in the incorporation documents or amendments thereto from the Domain Name user applicant;
- Brand Name/Trademark/Copyright/IPR: Domain Name related to the brand/trademark/copyright/other IPR of the Registrant/business/entity/organization as proved by a registration proof or brand/trademark/copyright/other IPR's certificate;
- Related Names: Domain Names related to the name of product, services, sections/divisions/units, or working/training program of the Registrant/business/entity/organization;
- Name Representative/Agent/Distributor: Domain Name related to the name of the Representative, Agency, Distributor of the Registrant/business/entity/organization as proved by an official appointment letter of the Representative/Agent/Distributor.[2]
Characters[edit | edit source]
- Domain Names can be in the form of Latin and non-Latin alphabets and numbers as well as hyphens.
- The Domain Name can have a maximum of 63 characters. The full Domain Name, including sub-level Domains and dots (.), the maximum is 253.
- Hyphen characters may not be used at the beginning or end, nor as the third or fourth character in the sequence of a Domain Name.
