Ida Ng'ang'a is the former Chairman, Membership & Outreach for Kenya for the Internet Society (the organization that sets the standards on how the internet operates). She was elected in September 2016, the first woman to hold this position.

She is a Founding Member and Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Consortium (of Experts) for Development - RCD Africa and former Regional Head , Anglophone Countries at UNESCO Chair for Emerging Technologies which is based in Bordeaux, France. She was leading research on the impact of emerging technologies on development - artificial intelligence, IoT, blockchain, and big data analytics - (currently in an Advisory role).

Ida is passionate about technology and innovation and has vowed to make internet opportunities, digital learning, computer programming, and mobile application development skills accessible to as many youths and women as possible. She is the Founder of Fem-Hub Africa, a coaching and business accelerator for women in STEM.

She leads Internet for Education discussions and engagements regionally for the Internet Society. She sits on the boards of the Internet for Development Global Community, Women in STEM Leaders, and Africa Gender Taskforce Networks. She has contributed to the Women@Facebook Roundtable as well as been recognized by Mara Foundation and the United Nations on International Women's Day (Prolific Woman, 2015) for mentoring young entrepreneurs in Africa.

She is has been lauded for her great work severally, eg. Global Women in Leadership 2021, Facilitators' Excellence Award 2020, Future of Tech Award 2019, Internet of Things Innovator 2018, Internet Society African Fellow 2017, Timeless Woman Governance Award 2016, Leaders in Kenya Award 2015 & 2014, African Leadership Top Award 'Outstanding Mentor', amongst other recognitions.

She is currently working on a project that promotes the digital economy and interventions for regulators and government (with the help of the private sector); as well as promoting wireless community networks as an affordable solution for internet access.
