Career History
Ms. Yilmaz joined ICANN in 2010. Prior to joining ICANN, she was the Policy Development Manager at RIPE NCC, where she had the responsibilities of Developing work-plan, managing the activities of Policy Development Office coordinating the bottom-up, consensus based Internet policy making process in RIPE region and ensuring successful implementation of the policies at the RIPE NCC. From 2001-2006, she was the IP Resource Coordinator at RIPE NCC.[2]
She started her career working at Middle East Technical University in 1996 as the User Support and Informatics Group Assistant Manager and then as a Research Assistant.[3] Her thesis, "A Computational Analysis of Information Structure in Turkish," was recognized as the Institute's thesis of the year.[4]
Education
She holds a BSc. degree in Mathematics and an MSc in Mathematics and Cognitive Science from Orta Dogu Teknik Üniversitesi.[5]
