Prior to his promotion in 2011, Blend served as Demand's Executive Vice President of Plaform Business and President of eNom, after a promotion in 2008 from Senior Vice President, HotKeys. Michael joined Demand Media in 2006 after they acquired his company, HotKeys, a web technology firm. He founded HotKeys in 2001, and served as its CEO until it was sold; its infrastructure is still being used by Demand. Blend was Vice President of Corporate Development for Aliph, a position he held from 2001 to 2003. From 1999 to 2001, he was the Vice President of Corporate Development at WeddingChannel.com. Prior to joining WeddingChannel.com, Blend worked with Darwin Keyboards, a company he co-founded in 1995. which went on to develop the first ergonomic computer keyboards on the market.[1][2][3][4]

Blend holds a patent in the area of computer keyboard design, relating to his time spend with Darwin Keyboards.[5]

Education

Michael received a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, and a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Duke University.[6]
