Aderonke Adeniyi is Deputy Manager for the Policy, Economic Analysis and Research Department of the Nigerian Communications Commission, where she assists with the research and analysis of existing and proposed global policies as they affect the telecommunications/ICTs industry, as well as how they can be adopted into the Nigerian telecoms industry.

She also recommendations made from various ICTs segments such as technological developments, market growth/penetration, convergence, cybercrime, child online protection, internet governance, subscriber trends/demands, infrastructure developments, solutions for emerging markets and how to effectively and efficiently regulate the industry is forwarded to management for consideration.

Furthermore, she assists with coordinating collation and analysis of the Nigerian telecommunications industry performance statistics to generate periodic reports for the purpose of providing a detailed and accurate data on the various telecommunications services segments such as mobile, fixed, internet, broadband, quality of service, and infrastructure deployments.

She represents Nigeria in the ITU Expert Group of Telecommunications Indicators (EGTI), an initiative where discussions are held on how to continuously seek ways to ascertain through statistical computation of global telecommunications/ICTs growth the best indicators that are acceptable and implementable in all the countries of the world.

Aderonke’s ICT4Dev passion in which she requires support, aid, suggestions and encouragement are on the issues on:

  • Internet governance,
  • Information and Cyber Security;
  • Child online protection
  • Promotion and creation of awareness within Nigeria and Africa challenges connected with cybercrime, hacking, child online protection etc.
  • Development and promotion of the Internet Multistakeholder Governance;
  • Knowledge acquisition and social platform;

Education

Aderonke graduated from Usmanu Danfodiyo University in 1999 with a B.Sc. and Honors in Applied Chemistry. She also has attended the University of Strathclyde.[1]
