Adiel Akplogan is the CEO of AfriNIC[1], and has held this position since 2004. He is also an Executive Council member at NRO.[2]

Career History edit

He has more than 15 years experience in the Internet Technology environment. He was previously the Advisor for Internet Governance Forum at United Nation Organization. He has also served as the director at CAFENet, which is an IT service company in Togo. He was the IT Director at Symbol Technologies from 2001 -2003. He has served in the African Technical Advisory Committee of the United Nation Economic Commission for Africa (ATAC/UNECA) from 2005-2006.[3]

He is the one of the pioneers of Internet in West Africa. He started the first Internet service provider of the region. Mr. Adiel participated in the setting of several technical bodies in Africa such as AfNOG and AfTLD. He also serves as the Administrative committee at the AfNOG.[4]

Mr. Adiel holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering and a M.Sc. in business and New Technology Management.[5]
