David Olive is the Vice President of Policy Development at ICANN. Mr. Olive also works with Global Information Infrastructure Commission (GIIC), the U.S.-Japan Business Council, and the International Chamber of Commerce.[1]
Career History edit
Mr. Olive joined ICANN in February 2010, prior to which, he worked at Fujitsu Limited for 20 years in a variety of positions. His most recent post at Fujitsu Limited was that of the General Manager and Chief Corporate Representative at the company's Washington office, where he worked in advising Fujitsu on business planning, corporate and business development, and public policy issues affecting information technology.[2]
Before working at Fujitsu, he had a career working as a U.S Foreign Service Officer in Trade, Investment and Technology Policy.
Mr. Olive has also been a member of the Commercial Board of Directors of TechAmerica and was a part of the Board of Directors of Computer and Communication Industry Association. He also served at the World Information Technology and Services Alliance for many years as a Public Policy Director.
He has been an active business representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Technical Advisory Group on Taxation and Electronic Commerce, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) conferences.

Mr. David holds a BSFS in International Relations from Georgetown University and MA in International Economics from the The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).[3]
Awards and Honors edit
He was awarded the U.S. State Department’s Meritorious Honor Award for distinguished service.[4]
