Narayan Gangalaramsamy

Narayan Gangalaramsamy works for the Police Force of Mauritius as the Officer In-Charge of the IT unit and Cyber Crime Investigation and Digital Forensics unit. He has been working in this position for over 25 years, where his tasks have included the implementation of computer-based projects such as fingerprinting systems, criminal databases, and management systems for vehicle tracking, fingerprinting, firearms, finances, registries, and more. He is currently helping to implement a a Crime Occurrence Tracking System, with software being developed by Siebel and Oracle.[1]

In 2012, he joined ICANN's SSAC. He is also a member of ISOC and a cybersecurity group. At ICANN 45 in Toronto, Canada, he was an ICANN Fellow along with 26 others.[2][3]

Education

Gangalaramsamy has an MSc in Computer Security and Forensics from the University of Technology in Mauritius, and also has degrees and certificates in Legislation Drafting, Computer Forensics, Cyber Law, and Police Studies, from universities in Botswana, India, and the UK.[4]
