Mark William Datysgeld is a Brazilian researcher at the São Paulo State University (UNESP), holding a BA and Master's degree in International Relations with a focus on Internet Governance and the impacts of the Digital Revolution on policymaking. He is also the coordinator of the "Networks, technology and modernity" area of IPPRI/UNESP's research group Centre for International Analysis and Studies (NEAI), as well as leading the open Internet Governance course Governance Primer, which currently has been carried out in 3 countries[1].
He attended ICANN 53 as a member of the NextGen at ICANN program[2], ICANN 55 as an ICANN Fellow[3], ICANN 56 as a NextGen Ambassador[4] and ICANN 58 as a second time Fellow[5]. Ever since his first meeting he has been engaged in supporting the NextGen program and developing solutions to improve youth participation in the institution, as well as holding an active interest in ICANN's role as a global education platform for Internet Governance. He was part of the Local Staff of the 2015 Internet Governance Forum, and presented the workshop "Hands-on Youth-driven Internet initiatives" in the 2016 IGF[6].
