Born and raised in Rome, Francesco Cetraro currently lives in Malmö (Sweden) and is Director of Business Development in Europe for Afilias, the Registry Operator for .info, .mobi and .pro and leading Registry and DNS technology provider with 17 TLDs and over 20 million domain names under management.
In his role mr. Cetraro has been actively involved in various projects to promote Afilias' range of products in Europe, from domain names and new TLDs to mobile services and managed DNS.
With over 8 years of experience in the domain and hosting industry, he is an expert on domain names and the hosting market: he regularly attends ICANN meetings and other industry meetings and conferences and has also been featured as speaker at several domain- and hosting-related events around the world.
Prior to joining Afilias mr. Cetraro worked at Denmark-based ICANN accredited Registrar Ascio Technologies inc. as Product Manager and Registry Relations Manager.
He describes himself a strong advocate of open source software as an instrument to overcome digital divide and to allow a more equal distribution of resources among the people of the world. He sees his position as an opportunity to contribute to a fairer development of the Internet.[1]

He studied Political Science at Uppsala Universitet, received a MA from Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli where he majored in International Relations and European affairs, with a focus on EU Regional Development Policies.[2]
