IIS or Stiftelsen för Internetinfrastruktur is the manager of, and ICANN accredited registrar for, the Swedish ccTLD, .se.[1] According to their website they have more than 1 million registered domain names. They have a long list of Internet development projects including development of different applications, education on different aspects of the Internet aspects, publications and IPv6 implementation. IIS was the first organisation in the world to implement open DNSSEC.[3] The company co-founded EURid with the registry operators for Belgium and Italy's ccTLDs, .be and .it, which are DNS Belgium and Instituto di Informatica e Telematica.[4][5]

Services

IIS regularly arranges seminars and conferences in co-operation with other local companies. It arranges competitions in which a large number of students participate.[6] The complete list of upcoming events can be seen here. It is running a campaign named Internet Fund, which allows anyone to apply for financing from IIS if they have a planned Internet promotion or advocacy project.[7] IIS also believes in the future of open source technology and is working for the creation of better open source applications for people.[8]

Awards

IIS received a Swedish Quality Award in 2010 for its role in the development of the Swedish Internet community.[9].
