Patrick L. Jones is a Senior Director of ICANN's Global Stakeholder Engagement (GSE) team. He works as a liaison between the GSE and the Security, Stability and Resiliency Coordination team. His responsibilities include leading the GSE team's annual budget and coordinating operational alignment of global engagement activities across regions.[1]

Career History

Early Career

Jones worked as a law clerk at NCAA from 2000-2001, and at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development in 1999. He has also served as an assistant swimming coach at IUPUI.[1]

From 2001-2005, Patrick maintained UDRPlaw.net, an informational website on domain name disputes. UDRPlaw.net was one of the first portals for information on the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.

He joined ICANN in 2006, after working for nearly five years with a law firm in Washington, D.C., where he assisted with domain name protection and intellectual property enforcement for a variety of clients, including the International Olympic Committee and the American Red Cross. In addition, Patrick provided government relations and policy consulting on new TLDs.

ICANN History

Patrick joined ICANN in March 2006 as a Registry Liaison Manager, where he assisted registries with any ICANN-related issues, TLD policies, and coordinated the Registry Services Evaluation Process.[1] He held this position from 2006-2009.

In November 2009, Jones took a position as Senior Manager of Continuity & Risk Management, part of ICANN's Security team. He held this position until October 2013.
