Esmat is a former member of the WSIS Working Group on Internet Governance ([[WGIG]]), and served as Chair of the Egyptian [[IPv6]] Task Force before he joined [[ICANN]]. His area of interests include Internet policies relative to [[ICANN]]'s authority regarding [[DNS]] and [[IP]] addresses, and areas like access, mobility, and security.<ref> [http://www.baheresmat.com/ Baher Esmat]</ref>
