AIPMAS was created as a result of the meeting held in Munich, Germany on February 23, 1987 when majority of the professionals who attended the event voiced out their concerns regarding the practices and protection of trademarks, patents and industrial property.

The Society’s objective is not only centered on intellectual property protection but also the resolution of conflicts, which the Society decided to focus on.
