Ceasar Waweru is a visionary technology and innovation leader with a profound commitment to driving transformation across Africa. With a Bachelor of Science in Informatics and Computer Science from Strathmore University and a current Master’s in Computer Science at Kenyatta University—focused on advanced weather forecasting through radial basis function networks—Ceasar’s academic journey reflects both depth and ambition. He has also honed his leadership skills through a Strategic Leadership Development Program at the Kenya School of Government.
In his current role as a Digital and Innovation Fellow at the African Union Headquarters, Ceasar is at the forefront of shaping digital strategies that align with Africa’s ambitious goals for sustainable growth and integration. With a background as a software quality assurance analyst and cybersecurity expert, he brings extensive hands-on experience, complemented by advanced certifications in privacy, data protection, and cloud infrastructure from globally recognized institutions like Huawei, Oracle, and EC-Council.
Ceasar’s influence extends internationally, having served as a Millennium Fellow and an ICANN NextGen Fellow. As part of the Root Server System Advisory Committee (RSSAC) Caucus, he actively contributes to global internet governance, focusing on critical issues such as privacy and proxy services accreditation. These roles underscore his commitment to ethical and inclusive digital infrastructure on a global scale.
Equally passionate about environmental sustainability, Ceasar has been an active advocate in programs such as the Hackcorruption Hackathon, FXB Climate Advocates, and the Oxford Net Zero Global Youth Coalition. His work in climate resilience and education is particularly focused on empowering communities in the Global South to be agents of change.
