Maud Adjeley Ashong Elliot
Maud Adjeley Ashong Elliot is a lecturer in IT studies at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. Her research interests relate to the role of women in technology and digital transformation. She is actively involved in STEM initiatives across Ghana to encourage young women at the high school level to pursue STEM courses at tertiary institutions. She continues to support and counsel these women throughout their education. In addition, Mrs. Ashong Elliot advocates for a safe Internet by serving as the Vice President of the Internet Society, Ghana Chapter, where she teaches women how to monitor and protect their children’s online activity. She has also taught programming in Scratch and Python to young children to encourage more participation in STEM programmes. She represented the AIS Women’s Network as its treasurer. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in IS at the University of Ghana Business School. An IBM-trained educator in mobile development and cloud development. Maud has a strong interest in gender issues as well as monitoring and nurturing children online. She is an ICANN78 fellow.
