.SRL is a TLD delegated in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The registry agreement was assigned by mySRL GmbH to InterNetX Corp., both wholly owned subsidiaries of InterNetX GmbH. The proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 24th July, 2015.[1]

Background[edit | edit source]

Google (Charleston Road Registry Inc.) and mySRL GmbH applied both for .SRL.

In March 2015, the contention set was resolved by ICANN auction. [2]

Contract Signed

On 7th May 2015, mySRL Gmbh received a Registry Agreement signed by ICANN for .SRL after passing the Initial Evaluation. The company assigned its agreement to the affiliate company InterNetX Corp..[3] Afilias provides back-end registry service.[4]

Delegation and Availability[edit | edit source]

.SRL was delegated to the Root Zone of the DNS on 24th July, 2015, completing the successful application for the string.[5]

Sunrise

The Sunrise Period for the string started on the 22th September 2015 and will end on the 22th October 2015. [6]

General Availability

After a quite period, general availability starts on 26th October 2015.[7] The claims period ends on 24th January 2016.

Target audience

“SRL” is the abbreviation for “Sociedad de Responsabilidad” or “Società a Responsabilità Limitata”. The domain extension .SRL is directed especially to limited liability companies in Spanish and Italian speaking countries, who have chosen the legal form of an "SRL". .SRL Domains are only available to companies, which are administered i.e. as Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada or Società a Responsabilità Limitata.[8]
