Msimang is the founder of Pygma Consulting, an advisory firm dealing with policy, regulation, strategy, and training, particularly in information and communication technology. She creates spaces for the ICT ecosystem to thrive and be used for socioeconomic development.
Career
Msimang started her career in the telecommunications sector as an Advisor to Council at the South African Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (SATRA, now Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) and later became a Senior Manager at ICASA. She was responsible for competition policy, research, and economic and financial analysis in 2001. Msimang joined mobile operator Cell C (Pty) Ltd in 2004, where she was Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs. She then left to start a consulting firm, Pygma Consulting, specializing in ICT policy and regulation.[1]
ICANN and Internet Governance Participation
She was selected to serve on the ICANN Board by the NomCom, and her term started in November 2019 after ICANN66 in Montreal, Canda and runs until the AGM in 2022.[2]
