Robert F. Connelly is the founder of Domains Only, Inc. and also a former Secretary for the Registrar Constituency.[1]
In a letter dated December 8th, 2011, Robert Connelly, along with twenty-seven other domain name industry representatives, wrote to Sen. Jay Rockefeller and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison to support ICANN's new gTLD program, in response to the Senate Hearings taking place on the same day. They supported ICANN's argument that the program would be innovative and economically beneficial and noted that the program took a diverse group of international stakeholders years to develop.[2] The letter can be found here.
Professional Achievements
- The foundation of International Technical Trading, Inc. He created it in 1978, in Japan and occupied the position of President until 2003. He is currently the chairman. INTEC imports "consumer convenience products." The company imported raw materials from the US and in 2009 introduced "Awesome Goo".[3] The company also holds patents within the European Commission, U.K., Canada, Israel, Australia, the US, and Japan for pollution control, corrosion prevention, petrochemical processes and other technologies.[4]
- The foundation of Domains Only, Inc, a registrar for Internet domain names.
- A member of numerous societies, including: American Society for Testing and Materials, Society of Automotive Engineers, the America-Japan Society, Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan.
- A past president of the Tokyo American Club and a past vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
- Co-chairman of the U.S. Japan Trade Study Group. His responsibilities included identifying non-tariff barriers to the import of products from US to Japan.
- Teacher of high-tech manufacturing at Stanford.[5]
