Abdulrahman Almarzouqi works for UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. He is responsible for many ICT initiatives with a focus on Internet Public Policy issues. Abdulrahman has worked in reforming the .ae ccTLD in 2008. He oversees the development of .ae including all the ccTLD policies, the restructuring of the market to registry/registrar model. He also was responsible for the redelegation of .ae from the incumbent operator. Abdulrahman is also involved in key strategic Internet initiatives in the UAE including aeCERT, UAE-IX, IPv6, new gTLDs roll out in the region, data protection and development of Cloud in the UAE.

Career History[edit | edit source]

Abdulrahman is currently working as Manager Internet Advancement within the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, a UAE federal government entity responsible for the ICT sector.

Previously Abdulrahman worked with Emirates Telecommunications Company Etisalat as a Systems Security Engineer within the ISP unit of Etisalat.

Abdulrahman has a Master's Degree from Australia's Wollongong University and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering with honors from the Khalifa University of Technology.
