Accountability Mechanisms are the tools with which ICANN builds and maintains its principles of accountability and Transparency into every level of its organization and mandate. They are outlined in Articles IV and V of the ICANN Bylaws and detailed in the Accountability and Transparency Frameworks and Principles They are annually reinforced in ICANN's Strategic and Operational Plans. ICANN established its accountability mechanisms to review ICANN actions.[1]

Types

Reconsideration and Independent Review are for certain actions and differ fromo the periodic review of ICANN's structure and operations.[2]
