.mv is the ccTLD for the Maldives. It is managed by Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun PLC.[1]
Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]
As of October 2024,the registry operator named on the IANA Root Database, Dhiraagu Pvt. Ltd.,[1] does not list any information regarding registration on their website, nor do they display any application forms or procedures for domain names.[2] In Dhiraagu's 2019 Annual Report, the company notes that neither its domain nor web hosting businesses "met the quantitative threshold for reportable segments in 2019 or 2018" in terms of revenue.[3]
On the TLD-List website, we have that "any individual, company, or organization is able to buy a .mv domain name. However, priority is given to those who have a connection or relation to the Maldives. There are no restrictions on nationality or residency to buy a .mv domain name." The website also provides a list of registrars where it is possible to register a .mv and / or the second-level domains available.[4]

The "Nominate" registrar offers the following second-level domains: ".aero.mv", ".biz.mv", ".com.mv", ".coop.mv", ".edu.mv", ".gov.mv", ".info.mv", ".int.mv", ".mil.mv", ".museum.mv", ".name.mv", ".net.mv", ".org.mv" and ".pro.mv".[5]
