1996 – 1999 General DataComm Corp., Marlboro MA Sr. Scientist, Acting Director - Responsible for technical and administrative management of GDC’s Boston Research Center. Projects included: GSMP controlled switch for Label Switched Router (MPLS) with Ericsson, LAN adaptation, IP/Label switching, and PNNI. In addition to technical leadership, was responsible for staffing and budget decisions as well as yearly project planning. Originally hired as lead architect for IP switch project.

1999: Revenant Networks President - Several of us decided, with GDC's permission, to attempt to spin out a startup. While we succeeded in getting one year's worth of contract funding from Ericsson to complete the GSMP/MPLS project for them, we were unable to negotiate continuing funding. We broke even financially when we closed down the company.

1995 - 1996 Bytex - Network Systems Corp., Westborough, MA Sr. Consulting Engineer, Lead Architect - edge module for interconnecting ATM with local and IP networks.

1993 - 1995 Proteon Inc., Westborough, MA Engineering Manager - Internetworking Systems Development Responsible for the following protocols: OSPF, BGP, SNMP, IPX, I-ISIS, and the TCP/IP stack. Responsible for complete project life cycle; i.e. from design to product.

1992 - 1993 Locus Computing Corp., Burlington MA 2/93-11/93 Engineering Manager for a group porting LAN Manager for UNIX, Responsible for project from initial proposal, through contract phases and into the design and implementation phases. 8/92-6/93 Project Manager of group porting Ultrix to Digital’s MIPS R4000/R4400 workstation family. Project was delivered on time and under budget. Responsible for documentation, test and development groups.

1990 - 1992 Clearpoint Research Corp., Hopkinton MA Network Engineering Manager - Developed a line of 4 products from conception and architecture to implementation and release. Managed the software, hardware and test groups.
