Domain Parking is basically the registration of a domain name without using necessarily in the present stage. It is "reserved" for future developments and not used for certain services such as e-mail.[1]

About the concept

This concept most often implies taking a domain, placing it on a host server and create a website with ads instead of posting a picture "under construction". Because most domainers do not have the necessary knowledge for doing this on their own, finding a parking company is the most common solution. The company will create the landing page of the website filled with ads and in exchange obtain a percentage of the advertising revenue. [2] One of the most important benefits of using this method is represented by the fact that the domainer does not have to bother anymore with using complicated content management systems or with building the website. On the other hand this is the perfect solution for those who did not develop the idea for the domain and wish to "put it on hold" until the right moment appears. [3]

Parking companies

There is a high number of companies offering domain parking services. The key is to do a thorough research before hand in order to make the best decision. Some offer certain services for free or important discounts, while others are more exquisite. The key is to know what to look for and when.
