Elliot Silver is an Internet entrepreneur, domain name investor, and founder of the popular Internet blog, ElliotsBlog.com, a website that was honored in 2008 with a Domainers Choice award. His principal job today remains running Top Notch Domains, LLC and Silver Internet Ventures, LLC, where he is a full time domain name investor and publisher. Born in Nashua, NH, he comes from an entrepreneurial family and currently makes his home in Manhattan with his wife, Karen.[1][2] Silver occasionally organizes events to bring domainers together in the greater New York City region.[3]

Professional Experience & Domaining

Elliot started his career at Wunderman, a direct marketing and advertising agency, where he was employed as a Project Manager. In May 2005, nearly a year later, he joined AIG, the insurance company, as Senior Program Manager, managing direct marketing programs. By that point he had already become involved in domaining.

Silver founded Top Notch Domains, LLC a company specializing in domain name investments and monetization. The company operates websites such as DogWalker.com, DogGroomers.com, and Torah.com. In October 2007, Elliot moved permanently to his own company, turning his part-time hobby into his full time profession. Three years later, he started another company, Silver Internet Ventures, LLC, one which specializes in web development, and currently operates web-based properties including Burbank.com, Lowell.com and TropicalBirds.com.

Silver both flips and develops domains, and while he has noted that he prefers to flip domains when possible, he launched several websites as a means to create additional revenue streams and diversify his income.[4] Top Notch Domains, LLC currently operates several websites in the pet vertical, including DogWalker.com, DogGroomers.com, and DogPark.com.

Silver wholly owns both of his companies, and he does not publicly disclose revenue or other financial information. As of a 2010 interview with Domainers' Digest, Silver's portfolio included some 300 domains, with nearly all of them being .com web addresses.[5] His companies currently own approximately 500 domain names.

To date, Top Notch Domains, LLC has sold over $1 million worth of descriptive domain names.[6] Other achievements include honors and awards obtained for ElliotsBlog.com. In 2010, Silver received a TRAFFIC award for Best Domain Blog, and he was again nominated in 2011.[7]

Education

Elliot Silver attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and History in 2002. After graduating, Silver enrolled at New York University, earning his Masters Degree in Direct and Interactive Marketing.

Silver was also involved in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and the Order of Omega while at Muhlenberg College.
