Career History
Rodrigo joined ICANN in January 2011. He is responsible for outreach, support, and engagement with all stakeholders in the Latin America region.
Before joining ICANN, he served as Director General of Prospective Regulation and Director General for International Cooperation of Mexico's Federal Commission of Telecommunications (Cofetel).
Rodrigo has also served as the Mexican representative to ICANN's Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC), which gives governments a voice in the organization's policy formation. He is also a member of the Consultative Committee of NIC.mx, Mexico's ccTLD.
Rodrigo has been an active participant in a number of international organizations, including the Latin America Regulation Agencies Forum (REGULATEL), the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (OAS-CITEL), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
He is a lecturer of International Organizations and Economic Negotiations, and is a consultant to the Latin American Cooperation for Advanced Networks (CLARA).[1]
