Rodrigo de la Parra is the Regional Liaison for Latin America at ICANN.[1] Rodrigo joined ICANN in January 2011. He is responsible for outreach, support, and engagement with all stakeholders in the Latin America.

He is a lecturer of International Organizations and Economic Negotiations, and is a consultant to the Latin American Cooperation for Advanced Networks (CLARA).

Education

He has a master's degree in political economy and international affairs.

Career History

He was the Director General of the Prospective Regulation before he joined ICANN. He has also been the Director General of Cooperation of Mexico's Federal Commission of Telecommunications.[2]

He has been the Mexican Representative to ICANN's Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC). He is also a member of the Consultative Committee of NIC.mx, Mexico's ccTLD.[3]

He has been a regular participant at many organization operating world wide like the Latin America Regulation Agencies Forum (REGULATEL), the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (OAS-CITEL), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).[4]
