Ruth Puente is the GAC Secretariat. She is originally from Uruguay but moved to the Netherlands as she took up her current position in early 2011.

From 2006-2011 she was LACNIC's External Relations Officer, where she was responsible for communication and membership services.

Education

Ms. Puente holds a degree in International Relations from the University of the Republic. She took DiploFoundation's Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme (IGCPB) in 2008.

Career History

Puente has served as the Membership Liaison at LACTLD. She has also worked as an Account Executive at RAS Group, which is an International Freight Forwarder.

Governmental Advisory Committee. Considers and provides advice on the activities of ICANN as they relate to concerns of governments, particularly matters where there may be an interaction between ICANN's policies and various laws and international agreements or where they may affect public policy issues (ICANN Bylaws).
