Ambrose Ruyooka is the Deputy Coordinator at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) at the Uganda Teacher and Sschool Effectiveness Program (UTSEP). He joined the organization in April 2015 to help support the Government of Uganda in improving efficacy in the public primary education system.[1]
He was formerly the Acting Commissioner for Information Technology at the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Uganda,[2] where he does policy development for Internet-related issues.
Ruyooka is the GAC representative for Uganda and is also involved with ISOC. He is interested in information security and is currently the chapter president for the Kampala Chapter of ISACA.[3]
Career History[edit | edit source]
Mr. Ruyooka has taught ICT Project Management at Uganda Institute of ICT from 2001-2006, and at Uganda Management Institute. In 1996, he established the Katzo Hill College School, where he has also worked previously.[3]
Ambrose holds an MBA in Financial and Computer Management from Cyprus Institute of Marketing, PGD from the Makerere University and BSc/Ed in Physics and Mathematics from the same university.[1]
His education includes: Designing Web-Based Learning Materials (2003) offered by the ITU at AFLALTI Nairobi, Comprehensive Programme in Building eLearning Institutions by Tele-Akademie University of Applied Sciences Germany, Advanced ICT4D Trainers, by the International Institute for Communications Development (IICD) the Netherlands. Mr. Ruyooka holds a CCAI for the UICT Cisco Regional Networking Academy.[4]
