Agustina Callegari is a communications and policy analyst with a strong background in the public sector. Currently, she is working as an independent consultancy for different organizations and companies. She is specifically interested in Internet development both at local and international level. Recently, she has focused her work on coordinating different Internet-related projects, such as safe use of ITC campaigns and multistakeholder processes in Argentina. She has attended several international Internet-related events and meetings in which she participated as a speaker, moderator, and organizer of different sessions.
Agustina is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She speaks English and Spanish.
Career History[edit | edit source]
Agustina was the Director of Internet Governance and Policy at the Ministry of Modernization of Argentina where she coordinated multistakeholder processes in the country, among other responsibilities (2016-2017). Before this position, she worked as an advisor on privacy issues at the Personal Data Protection Center of the City of Buenos Aires (2013-2016).
ICANN and Internet Governance Participation[edit | edit source]
Agustina started her participation in ICANN as part of the NextGen@ICANN programme during ICANN53. She was a NextGen Ambassador at ICANN54. Currently, she is part of the Onboarding Community Program where she develops communications pieces to help newcomers to get involved in ICANN. She is a member of NPOC.
Outside of ICANN, she was a LACNIC fellow at LACIGF8 (2015, México) and at LACIGF9 (2016, Costa Rica), and she represented the ISOC as part of their Next Generation Leader's program at the 10th Internet Governance Forum in João Pessoa, Brazil in 2015.
Agustina is a founder member of ISOC´s Women Special Interest Group and she is a member of the Youth Observatory. In Argentina, she was part of the Committee that organized the first Argentinean IGF and she is involved in the organization of the event.
Education[edit | edit source]
Agustina holds a BA in Communications from the University of Buenos Aires (2012) graduated with honours. Currently, she is studying for a Master's Degree in Technology and Telecommunication Management at the University of San Andrés, Buenos Aires. She also has a Diploma in Internet Governance from the same University.
