.afl is a proposed Niche TLD in ICANN's new gTLD program. The applicant is the Australian Football League, which has partnered with Melbourne IT as an application consultant and ARI Registry Services as the back-end technical provider.[1] Australian rules football is different than both American football and international fútbol (soccer).[2]
